Editions Guidelines: Sample Language
Customers should expect to see the following language, or variations thereon, used in shipment inserts describing new/revised/reissued editions:
New edition:
With the new [design and format] [reorganization and updating], this volume replaces your [old edition number] Edition volume. This fully revised and reorganized edition replaces the old edition.
Revised edition:
This revised edition fully integrates coverage of [recent statutory or rules changes or legislative changes] [important recent caselaw] [current developments] in the area of _____ law].
Reissued edition:
The necessity of providing information in multiple types of media has led to the development of a new system for the processing and storage of information contained in Thomson West products. Although sections have been renumbered and the text is formatted differently, the book is still the same content wise. It is organized in the same manner and contains all of the information you have come to rely upon in your practice.
