Sparking a Revolution—KeyCite, the Citator of Choice

As we count down the number of days before a new century dawns, we look back over an era defined by one word: change. In the last half of this century, the greatest engine of change has been the computer. We can now access the resources of an entire law library online.

But while the tool is new, the goal is the same: to determine what is "good law." In just the few years since its introduction, KeyCite has sparked a silent revolution, becoming the citator of choice to help find the law and determine its validity.

WHY USE KEYCITE?
You can use KeyCite, which covers both federal and state cases, to

  • trace the history of a case
  • retrieve a list of all cases on Westlaw that cite a case
  • track the legal issues in a case
  • find other materials that discuss or analyze a case

NEW ON KEYCITE
And now KeyCite has gotten even better, with the addition of KeyCite for statutes and KeyCite Alert. KeyCite for statutes provides

  • links to session laws amending or repealing a statute
  • citations to pending legislation affecting a federal statute
  • credits and historical and statutory notes
  • citations to cases and administrative and secondary sources citing a statute
KeyCite Alert automatically monitors the status of cases and statutes and sends you updates when their KeyCite information changes.
